Abstract
This presentation will provide an understanding of what well integrity is and its importance. The NORSOK 2-barrier philosophy for wells will be explained, and well barrier schematics will be drawn. We will discuss how to design a barrier verification plan and common pitfalls with barrier verification plans. Finally, this will all be combined into a discussion on risk assessments and risk management.
Bio
Hans-Jacob Lund is a Global Well Integrity SME at ConocoPhillips. He has over 27 years with the company. Most of the career has been spent in well construction as a drilling engineer, rig engineer, engineering supervisor, superintendent, and chief engineer in Houston, Denver, Stavanger, and Calgary. He has a master’s in Petroleum Engineering from Tulsa University. Currently serving as the Chair for the Well Integrity Technical Section (WITS) at SPE.
