William Barrett has worked in the energy sector for over 37 years and is the Vice President of Product Development at 1PointFive, LLC, a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum. He is involved with efforts to advance leading-edge, low-carbon technologies and business solutions, as well as supporting the life cycle analysis for carbon emissions in direct air capture and related processes. William has been involved in all aspects of the CO2 business including CO2 supply, transportation, and carbon capture, utilization and storage. He has extensive experience and knowledge in selection of secure geologic storage sites and the design and application of monitoring, verification and reporting (MRV) programs.
William earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University with magna cum laude honors in 1988, and an MBA with concentration in International Business from the University of St. Thomas. William is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
William serves as an active member of the Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board.
